A summer and autumn destination for artists for more than a century, Dublin is the quintessential, small New England town, located in the heart of the Monadnock region with a white steeple church, a library, and a very cool general store and deli. It is also home to Yankee magazine and the Old Farmer’s Almanac. Nestled below Mt. Monadnock, a mile up the road, is Dublin Lake, a perfect swimming spot on a hot day… so bring your suit to cool off after a day creating images. There are many things to do in the region so please view the list below if you have extra time before or after the workshop to enjoy this beautiful part of New Hampshire.

The lodgings and dining options below are a few of the many choices available to you. A short 15-20 minutes west on Route 101 (the main highway that runs across the southern part of NH) is the college town of Keene, NH… where you will find shops, places to stay and dining options there as well. One town away to the east, on 101, is Peterborough a town which inspired Thornton Wilder's play, Our Town (which, I might add, my grandmother, Noni, named for him) and has a pedestrian friendly downtown. Browse antique shops, shop in unique boutiques and art galleries, take advantage of Peterborough's rich arts community, and enjoy great dining with a variety of cuisines available. Below is a list of the inns, motels and other lodging options that are in Dublin or right next door in Peterborough and Harrisville. A few miles away, in Hancock, is the site of the oldest inn and restaurant in America, The Hancock Inn (1789) where my wife Rebecca is the Inn’s organic gardener, providing vegetables for the menu. They also offer accommodations and a tavern. Also, local dining options and other attractions.
